2026 Regulatory Update
Is Semax Legal in New York in 2026?
Semax's status changed in 2026. Here's where it stands:
- It may now be compounded under specific conditions. In late 2026, federal health authorities announced an interim enforcement policy allowing qualifying 503A pharmacies to compound six peptides: BPC-157, TB-500, Epitalon, Semax, KPV and MOTS-c.
- Only as a single ingredient. Blends and multi-peptide "stacks" are not permitted.
- Only in its permitted form: nasal spray only.
- Strict sourcing rules apply, including FDA-registered ingredient manufacturers with certificates of analysis and a patient-specific prescription.
- This is not FDA approval. Semax has not been added to the FDA's list of approved compounding ingredients, and the policy may be revised or withdrawn at any time.
