Massage

While we offer pre-natal massage, we recommend checking with your doctor before getting one. If you do get a pre-natal massage, we have an automatic, fully adjustable massage table and offer additional pillows to enhance comfort. If you have any signs of edema, we do not recommend a prenatal massage.

Wear loose-fitting clothes that you feel comfortable in. Your therapist will ask you to undress to a point where you feel comfortable before your massage. If you plan to wear these clothes home, select clothing that massage oils will not damage or stain. Your therapist (depending on certifications) may also include corrective exercise or stretching in your session so wear modest, loose fitting clothing.

Before your massage begins, a massage therapist will meet with you to discuss your symptoms, medical history and the healing benefits you seek. Your therapist will leave the room so you can undress to a point where you feel comfortable. You will then lie on the massage table and cover yourself with the sheets and blanket provided. Sheets and a blanket will fully drape you during your entire session. We train our therapists to professionally drape clients, so you feel safe and comfortable during your treatment. Before starting, your therapist may evaluate you through palpation and movement assessments to observe imbalances, locate painful or tense areas and to determine how much pressure to apply. If your therapist pushes too hard, always feel comfortable to ask for lighter pressure. Communication is always encouraged so that your therapist can deliver the most beneficial massage. Your massage therapist will also review this information with you before your session begins. After your session, your therapist will recommend the frequency of treatments needed to reach your wellness goals and discuss a plan to help achieve these goals.

Massage therapists may apply hot towels, hot stones, cupping techniques, and essential oils during your massage. Far infrared heat therapy is also complimentary. Let your massage therapist know if you are allergic to any ingredients or plants. We use nut-free organic oils and lotions to help avoid common allergic reactions.

*IF YOU HAVE A PACE-MAKER, WE WILL NOT USE THE HEALTHYWAVE MAT. BE SURE TO INFORM ASCENT WELLNESS AND YOUR THERAPIST IF YOU HAVE A PACE MAKER. *

A massage therapist will meet with you to discuss your symptoms, medical history and the healing benefits you seek. Based on this initial evaluation, a massage therapist will recommend modalities to use in your session and the frequency of treatments needed to achieve your wellness goals. If you are experiencing any points of pain or inflammation, we encourage you to add CBD salve to your massage. The anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving agents of CBD will help reduce inflammation within your muscles and joints. We use CBD salve that is organically grown and infused with DoTerra lavender oil to amplify the anti-inflammatory properties of the CBD. Our CBD salve encourages your pores to open from the natural warmth that lavender brings, allowing the CBD to penetrate even deeper. People seek CBD salve with a massage to help enhance relaxation and encourage physical pain relief. For athletes, research shows CBD accelerates the recovery and healing process of injured connective tissue. Experience all the amazing benefits by adding CBD to your massage.

Therapeutic massage draws from advanced modalities to enhance the body’s restorative functioning. Licensed Massage Therapists use the correct and desired pressure to help release tension, relax muscles, increase blood and lymph circulation, and produce a sense of calm and well-being. Therapeutic massage supports conventional medical treatment of illness and injury, eases pain and stress, aids in soft tissue healing and revitalizes the body.

Medical massage is used as an umbrella term. Your therapist uses multiple modalities rather than just one specific modality during your session to address a specific problem or goal. Each part of the body may need a distinct type of massage to achieve the overall desired outcome. Your therapist will design a specific treatment plan targeted to a specific problem(s) the patient presents after doing a thorough intake and assessment prior to your session. Medical massage usually entails a recommended treatment plan following your initial visit that may include information for self-care at home.

Salt Therapy

People with certain conditions should avoid halotherapy. Those with infectious diseases or a fever cannot take part in salt room therapy. Patients with cardiac insufficiency, chronic kidney disease, hypothyroidism, or tuberculosis also should not take part in salt treatments. Consult with your health care professional before scheduling salt therapy.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing to your session. If you are seeking relief from skin conditions, we recommend wearing clothing that exposes the areas of skin you wish the salt to reach within a modest manner (shorts, tank-tops and T-shirts are acceptable). We require wearing socks in our salt cave for sanitary purposes. We will have socks available for purchase if you forget to provide your own.

Our beautiful and serene salt cave allows customers to experience dry salt therapy with a small group (1-8 people) over a 45-minute session. Himalayan salt covers the walls and floors to calm the mind and body by releasing negative ions, which counterbalance the positive ions we pick up from our electronic devices. Neutralizing the surrounding atmosphere stabilizes mood, decreases stress, and promotes healing. Participation requires nothing more than lying back in a comfortable zero-gravity chair and breathing deeply as you relax, read, listen to music, sleep, or meditate. We discourage cell-phone use in our cave as it can become a distraction for others. We encourage everyone to use this time to take a break from technology and be present during your session.

Salt therapy is an all-natural treatment for people of all ages. Babies as young as three months benefit and respond to halotherapy treatments. Salt therapy offers an excellent alternative to pregnant women who want to avoid over-the-counter and prescription medication for sinusitis, asthma, allergies, and other respiratory illnesses during pregnancy. The ionized salt particles also boost their immune system. We offer special days for children’s sessions in the form of events. Our “Children’s Story Time in the Salt Cave” offers a wellness opportunity in a relaxed and fun setting. Families may also rent out our salt room for private therapeutic sessions for their children.

Though you may experience health benefits after a single session, long-lasting results occur with regular treatments. For best results, we recommend a series of treatments. Chronic conditions benefit from regular sessions, as often as twice a week, over a few weeks or months. Symptom relief may last for months before you require additional treatment. If the goal is rest and stress relief, you may come as often as you like.

Our commercial grade halogenerator grinds salt into microparticles and disperses them evenly throughout our authentic Himalayan salt cave. You inhale the dry salt-enriched air into your lungs, which widens your airways and loosens mucous to reduce inflammation and enhance breathing. Non-inhaled particles land on your skin, which balances pH and induces reparative and regenerative processes in the skin.

Salt therapy, also known as halotherapy, is a natural treatment that uses microparticles of medical-grade salt to promote better health. During a salt therapy session, dry salt aerosol flows through a salt cave where the walls and floor are covered in thousands of pounds authentic Himalayan salt. Breathing the air in this negative ion and antimicrobial environment promotes better breathing, healthier skin, improved sleep, and reduced inflammation. This alternative treatment aids many health conditions including anxiety, asthma, allergies, skin conditions, fatigue, stress, COPD, and inflammation.

Sauna

Yes. We recommend that you consult with your doctor or health care professional before receiving any of these services.

Category: Sauna

We recommend wearing loose-fitting clothing to your sauna session and bringing a change of clothes to wear home. We provide towels.

Category: Sauna

We allow anyone over the age of 18 to use our sauna. However, an adult must accompany children under that age (but over age six). We recommend that children only stay in the sauna for 15 minutes. The National Institutes of Health advises against sauna treatments during pregnancy. Raising body temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit during pregnancy increases the risk of birth defects in the developing fetus. However, research shows far-infrared rays safely increase lactation in breastfeeding mothers. New mothers also benefit from detoxification, relief from anxiety and depression and a stronger parasympathetic nervous system.

Sauna sessions last 45 minutes. While color light therapy is complimentary, red light therapy costs an additional $15. Two people may use the sauna together. We encourage you to drink water during your treatment to stay well hydrated. You may bring your phone or tablet into the sauna. However, we encourage you to take this time as a break from technology. You can expect to feel rejuvenated and refreshed after each session.

Regular color light therapy sauna treatments help the body detox and heal. Treatments reduce inflammation, relieves pain, speeds healing, increases range of motion, decreases muscle tension, improves circulation, regulates mood, improves sleep, relieves SAD (seasonal affective disorder), and slows aging. Studies show treatments also lowers blood pressure, reduces stiffness and pain, reduces fatigue, and improves stamina.

Infrared saunas provide radiant heat that warms you not the surrounding air. Research shows Far Infrared Radiation (FIR) does not harm humans. In fact, doctors use FIR to warm newborn babies. Research supports the health benefits of regular infrared, color therapy treatments for a variety of conditions. Our sauna offers a safe, low EMFR (Electromagnetic Field Radiation) rating and emits zero VOC.

The chromotherapy lights in our sauna provide the wellness benefits of color light therapy. Each color applied to the body produces a different bodily response. For example, red stimulates while blue relaxes the body. Research shows color light therapy reduces inflammation, relieves pain, speeds healing, increases range of motion, decreases muscle tension, improves circulation, regulates mood, improves sleep, relieves SAD (seasonal affective disorder) and slows aging.

Infrared color-light therapy heats the body with light. The radiant heat penetrates the skin to produce a gentle warming inside the body and heals a variety of ailments. A traditional sauna heats the air temperature to over 180 degrees Fahrenheit, making it uncomfortable to sit in. Because the heat is outside the body, a regular sauna does not penetrate as deeply into the cells as an infrared sauna. Studies show that infrared saunas expel seven times more toxins, including environmental and heavy-metal toxins.
